AJ | Senior Session at Oak Grove Park

Some seniors walk into a session a little unsure of themselves in front of the camera. AJ was the complete opposite — confident without trying, relaxed from the start, and genuinely one of the kindest people you could ever meet.

AJ is one of those rare people who seems to excel at everything he touches. Whether it’s academics, football, basketball, or baseball, he brings dedication and heart into every part of his life. Standing at an impressive 6’9”, he definitely commands attention when he walks into a room, but what stands out even more than his height is his personality. He’s the kind of person who makes everyone feel comfortable instantly. The best hugs, the biggest smile, and a calm confidence that makes people naturally gravitate toward him.

Outside of sports and school, AJ is also deeply rooted in his faith and service. He spends time serving in his church and sets such a strong example for the younger kids around him. He’s the kind of senior that leaves an impact simply by being himself — humble, genuine, and constantly looking for ways to uplift others.

This fall, AJ will be attending BYU, where he’ll reunite with his older sisters on campus. You can tell how much family means to him, and the excitement of being together again made this milestone season even more meaningful.

For his senior session, we met at Oak Grove Park in Stockton, and honestly, everything aligned perfectly. The evening light was soft and golden, the weather was beautiful, and the entire session felt effortless from beginning to end. AJ’s parents came along for the shoot and quickly became his biggest cheerleaders between poses, which made the entire experience even more fun and relaxed.

We started in an area filled with giant boulders, trees, and warm evening light that perfectly matched AJ’s laid-back personality. Within minutes, he settled naturally into the session and found a comfort in front of the camera that many seniors hope to achieve. He moved through poses easily, trusted the process, and brought such an authentic energy to every shot.

From there, we wandered over to the willow trees and lake area, where the soft reflections and greenery created some of the dreamiest images of the evening. Once it was time for the suit look, AJ changed things up and instantly looked like he belonged on the cover of a magazine. We headed over to the bridge in the center of Oak Grove Park before finishing near the lake beside a stunning willow tree surrounded by geese and glowing sunset light.

The entire session was filled with laughter, jokes, and easy conversation both during and between shots. It never felt forced — just a genuinely fun evening celebrating an incredible senior entering an exciting new chapter of life.

AJ, your future is unbelievably bright. You have so much goodness to offer this world, and there is no doubt you’ll continue to be a light to the people around you wherever life takes you.
