There’s something powerful about simplicity, and Maryn proved that beautifully.
One dress. Two stunning Bay Area locations. And a senior who quietly carries the kind of confidence many people spend years trying to find.
We originally met at the Oakland Temple grounds to photograph her sister’s bridals, but Maryn came ready for her own moment in the spotlight. From the second she stepped in front of the camera, she was beaming, relaxed, self-assured, and completely herself. The soft greenery and pink blooms at the temple created the perfect setting for her fresh, classic look. Her sage dress moved effortlessly as she laughed, posed, and leaned into the experience.
What I loved most about Maryn’s session is that it shows something important: you don’t need multiple outfits or elaborate styling to create magic. Sometimes it’s about choosing meaningful locations and allowing your personality to shine.
After the temple, we headed to Baker Beach in San Francisco, and the golden hour light did not disappoint. The cliffs glowed in the background, waves rolled in softly, and Maryn stood in the sand with the same steady confidence she carried all afternoon. The ocean breeze caught her hair just right, adding that dreamy coastal feel that makes San Francisco senior sessions so special.
Maryn may describe herself as a little shy at times, but you would never know it watching her in front of the camera. She was all smiles and easy laughter, completely present in the moment. That quiet confidence? It’s the kind that runs deep.
Over the last four years, she’s balanced life beautifully. She dominated on the tennis court, worked hard in the classroom, and earned her spot at BYU-Idaho this fall. When she isn’t studying or practicing, you’ll likely find her playing video games, watching K-dramas (Crash Landing on You is a favorite), or embracing all things Korean culture.
Her session felt like a reflection of exactly who she is: grounded, thoughtful, joyful, and ready for what’s next.
Senior year is such a pivotal season. You find yourself standing between what was and what’s coming. Maryn embodies that transition with grace. Watching her step into this new chapter, fully herself, was an honor to document.
Maryn, thank you for trusting me with your senior year memories. The future looks incredibly bright on you.
