Some families just have a way of making you feel instantly at ease, grounded, joyful, and completely themselves. This family of five is exactly that. From the moment we started their family session at Lodi Lake, it was clear they share something special: a deep connection built on laughter, loyalty, and years of showing up for one another.
Lodi Lake offered the perfect backdrop for this session. With soft cloud cover overhead and a crisp autumn chill in the air, the weather could not have been more ideal. That dreamy fall atmosphere wrapped the entire session in calm, allowing us to slow down, enjoy the moment, and simply be present together. We spent about 60 minutes walking, laughing, and soaking in everything this season of life represents for them.
This session marked a meaningful chapter for their family. With twins currently in college and one child close behind, they are standing on the edge of becoming empty nesters, a place many parents know well. There’s a unique mix of pride and tenderness that comes with watching your children step confidently into adulthood. Pride in the lives they’re building, and a quiet sadness in realizing that home is about to feel a little different. That balance of emotions showed up beautifully throughout their session.
Best friends is the simplest and most accurate way to describe this family dynamic. These parents have walked alongside their kids through life’s highs and lows with grace and patience, offering unwavering support every step of the way. The sibling bond was especially powerful to witness. This trio truly has each other’s backs…through losses, through triumphs, through everything in between. They celebrate every win together and don’t hesitate to hug it out when things get hard.
There’s also a strong sense of shared history woven into who they are. As Sierra High School graduates through and through, with impressive sports records to back it up, this family proudly bleeds blue, from their alma mater roots to BYU blue as their kids continue their journeys in college. That legacy of dedication, teamwork, and school pride is something they carry with them wherever they go.
Being invited into this season of their lives, even briefly, was such an honor.
