A Golden Hour Senior Session with Sisters in the Mountains
We truly could not have asked for a more magical evening for this senior session in the mountains. As the sun dipped low, the peaks around us glowed in a dreamy golden-hour light you know the kind photographers hope for and dream about. It was one of those nights where everything aligned effortlessly, creating a session that felt both peaceful and unforgettable.
Rynn, the senior of the evening, had one special request: she wanted to share her spotlight with her sisters. That alone speaks volumes about who she is. Rynn isn’t one to crave all eyes on her, and that is more than okay, it’s honestly something to be admired. Instead, she chose to celebrate this milestone surrounded by the people who know her best.
I met their mom, Wynonah, at their home before the session so I could ride along with them in the truck up to our location. Behind us trailed a horse trailer carrying Monty, who was about to make his photography debut. From the very start, the evening felt like an adventure. It was the kind that turns into a core memory. I know I won’t forget this night anytime soon.
We began the session with Lyv and Monty as the sun slowly slipped behind the mountains and over the lake. Against the epic backdrop, the two of them were pure magic together. I couldn’t believe how calm and well-behaved Monty was, even with the camera clicking away. It was clear that Lyv had put in countless hours training him, and the trust between them was undeniable.
Next up was Kyt, the youngest of the three. She absolutely shined in front of the camera, trying her hardest to hold in her smirks and giggles as we cheered her on. Her joy was infectious, and every frame captured her playful spirit and confidence. Wyn had Dad on FaceTime so he could be a part of the action too! Like I said, such a special night!
Finally, it was time for the graduate to step into her moment. Rynn came out feeling a little uneasy at first, but within minutes she was completely at ease, moving effortlessly from one pose to the next. Watching her confidence grow in real time was such a gift. Graduating from high school and stepping into the unknown can feel daunting, but Rynn carries herself with a quiet grace that makes you believe she’ll thrive wherever life takes her next. She’s the kind of person who will pour her whole heart into whatever path she chooses.
As the sun dipped even lower, we wrapped up the session with a few final images of this sweet sister trio. There truly is nothing like sisters. They’re your best friends, your occasional rivals (let’s be honest), and your biggest supporters through every season of life. This session was filled with love, laughter, and so much goodness, and I’m incredibly grateful I had the chance to photograph these three amazing girls.
