Marx Family – Saratoga Springs, Utah

Chasing Light & Littles in Saratoga Springs, UT

There’s something breathtaking about a family session with Mount Timpanogos standing tall in the background—and this one, tucked along the shores of Saratoga Springs, Utah, was pure magic from start to finish.

The evening gave us golden light that felt like it was made just for them. With beautifully curated trails winding alongside the lake, the setting was peaceful and calm—exactly the kind of space that invites families to slow down, explore, and just be together. But as beautiful as the backdrop was, the real magic came from this amazing family of four.

Their energetic 4-year-old kept us all laughing and on our toes—darting down the trails, collecting rocks, and exploring every corner with wide-eyed wonder. He had a curiosity that was contagious and a personality that made every moment unpredictable in the best way. Watching him play peek-a-boo with his little sister was one of those simple, perfect moments I wish I could bottle up. Their laughter was infectious, and every time they connected, you could feel the love radiating between them.

His 2-year-old sister followed close behind throughout the shoot—precious, curious, and full of heart-melting smiles. Whether she was toddling along the trail or holding tightly to freshly picked flowers, her presence added a soft sweetness to the session that balanced her brother’s wild energy so perfectly. Together, they were a dynamic little duo—and an absolute joy to photograph.

Mom and Dad brought such a beautiful calm to the evening. They moved through the session with love, grace, and endless patience, soaking up the chaos and joy that comes with parenting littles. You could see it in the way they looked at their children—with that full-hearted, “this is our whole world” kind of gaze. And when they looked at each other? The same warmth and connection. It’s always a privilege to capture not just family portraits, but these unspoken moments of partnership, pride, and love that happen between parents, too.

As a family photographer in Saratoga Springs, these are the sessions I live for—the ones where real life and golden light collide. The mountain views, the calm of the lake, the laughter of little ones—it all came together in a way that felt natural, joyful, and completely honest. No forced smiles, no staged perfection. Just a family being themselves in a place that let them breathe.

These are the days they’ll look back on and smile—the messy, magical moments that pass far too quickly. And I’m so grateful I got to capture them.
